Are there any medical conditions that would make massage or bodywork inadvisable?Yes. That is why it is imperative that, before you begin any therapeutic session, your therapist asks general health questions. It is very important that you inform the therapist of any health problems or medications you are taking. If you are under a doctor's care, it is advised that you consult prior to beginning a new therapeutic treatment plan of any sort.

What should I do during my treatment? As little as possible! Please use this time to breathe deeply, unwind and let go. Your arms, legs and neck will be moved through their range of motion so please keep yourself loose and try not to help by moving or resisting movement. Always let your therapist know about any sharp pains or considerable/lasting discomforts. If the music is too loud, say so. Don't want music, that's great!

How does the appointment begin? When you arrive you may come to the studio door, if you have not been met outside please wait near the door. Although Shanti gives plenty of time between appointments, sometimes there might be a delay. You will then come into the studio and will have a brief check in about how you are feeling in your body. Shanti will then step out to gather any other tools and to wash up, giving you a few minutes to remove jewelry, undress for your treatment and relax onto the massage table, underneath the sheets. The treatment area is fully curtained and private.
